    Chapter 20. Contracts Between Connecting Railroads

Transportation of freight and passengers
    
Sec. 1. All railroad companies now organized or that may behereafter organized under the laws of this state, having connectingroads, may enter into contracts by their respective boards of directorsby which the locomotives and trains of one (1) railroad company, forthe transportation of freight and passengers, may be run and operatedover and upon the track and road of another railroad company, uponsuch terms as the said companies may agree upon.

Ratification
    
Sec. 2. All contracts heretofore made in good faith betweenrailroad companies organized under the laws of this state, acting bytheir respective boards of directors, by which the locomotives andtrains of one (1) railroad company, for the transportation of freightand passengers, are to be run and operated over the track and road ofanother railroad company, are hereby ratified and made legal.

Operation upon tracks of another company; tort liability
    
Sec. 3. Every railroad company that shall run and operate itslocomotives and trains upon the track and road of another railroadcompany shall be liable to third persons for all damages occasionedby such locomotives and trains, in the same manner and to the sameextent as though the track and road upon which such locomotives andtrains were run and operated belonged to the company owning andoperating the same.
