    Chapter 7. Voter Registration Services at License Branches

Applicability of chapter
    Sec. 1. This chapter applies to a license branch that furnishes anyservices other than the issuance of a driver's license or identificationcard under IC 9-24.

Commission to offer voter registration services
    Sec. 2. The commission shall offer voter registration servicesunder this chapter, in addition to providing a voter registrationapplication as a part of an application for a motor vehicle driver'slicense, permit, or identification card under IC 9-24-2.5 and 42U.S.C. 1973gg-3.

Forms provided
    Sec. 3. Each license branch shall provide copies of voterregistration forms.

Prescribing and placement of forms
    Sec. 4. The registration forms provided under section 3 of thischapter must be:
        (1) prescribed by the Indiana election commission to permit theNVRA official to fulfill the NVRA official's reporting dutiesunder 42 U.S.C. 1973gg-7(a)(3) and IC 3-7-11-2; and
        (2) placed in an easily accessible location within the branch, sothat members of the public may obtain the forms without furtherassistance from the commission.

Notice regarding forms
    Sec. 5. Each license branch shall post a notice in a prominentlocation easily visible to members of the public. The notice muststate substantially the following:

"VOTER REGISTRATION FORMS


AVAILABLE HERE


    This office has forms that you can fill out so that you can registerto vote in Indiana.
    If you live in Indiana and are not registered to vote where you livenow, and you want to register (or change your registration record),please take one of the forms.    If you cannot find a blank voter registration form in this office,ask us to give you a form.
    You must take the form with you and mail or deliver the form tothe voter registration office.
    Applying to register or declining to register to vote will not affectthe assistance or service that you will be provided by this office.".

Confidentiality of information
    Sec. 6. Voter registration information received or maintainedunder this chapter is confidential.
