Chapter 34. Indiana Firefighter License Plates

"Indiana firefighter" defined

    


Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "Indiana firefighter" means a
person who is:

        (1) a full-time, salaried firefighter; or

        (2) a volunteer firefighter (as defined in IC 36-8-12-2).

Design and issuance of plates

    


Sec. 2. (a) The bureau shall issue an Indiana firefighter license
plate. The Indiana firefighter license plate shall be designed and
issued as a special group recognition license plate under IC 9-18-25.

    (b) The bureau shall confer with representatives of the
Professional Firefighters Union of Indiana and the Indiana
Firefighters Association concerning a design for the emblem that
identifies the vehicle as being registered to a firefighter as prescribed
under IC 9-18-25-5.

Eligibility

    


Sec. 3. A person who is an Indiana firefighter and who is eligible
to register a vehicle under this title is eligible to receive at least one
(1) Indiana firefighter license plate upon doing the following:

        (1) Completing an application for an Indiana firefighter license
plate.

        (2) Paying the appropriate fee under section 4 of this chapter.

Fees

    


Sec. 4. The fee for an Indiana firefighter license plate is the
appropriate fee under IC 9-29-5-38.
