    Chapter 37. Indiana Boy Scouts Trust License Plates

Design and issuance of plates
    
Sec. 1. The bureau of motor vehicles shall design and issue anIndiana boy scouts trust license plate. The Indiana boy scouts trustlicense plate shall be designed and issued as a special grouprecognition license plate under IC 9-18-25.

Eligibility
    
Sec. 2. After December 31, 1999, a person who is eligible toregister a vehicle under this title is eligible to receive an Indiana boyscouts trust license plate under this chapter upon doing thefollowing:
        (1) Completing an application for an Indiana boy scouts trustlicense plate.
        (2) Paying the fees under section 3 of this chapter.

Fees
    
Sec. 3. (a) The fees for an Indiana boy scouts trust license plateare as follows:
        (1) The appropriate fee under IC 9-29-5-38(a).
        (2) An annual fee of twenty-five dollars ($25).
    (b) The annual fee referred to in subsection (a)(2) shall becollected by the bureau.
    (c) The annual fee described in subsection (a)(2) shall bedeposited in the fund established by section 4 of this chapter.

Boy scouts trust fund
    
Sec. 4. (a) The Indiana boy scouts trust fund is established.
    (b) The treasurer of state shall invest the money in the fund notcurrently needed to meet the obligations of the fund in the samemanner as other public trust funds are invested. Interest that accruesfrom these investments shall be deposited in the fund.
    (c) The commissioner shall administer the fund. Expenses ofadministering the fund shall be paid from money in the fund.
    (d) On June 30 of each year the commissioner shall distributemoney from the fund to the organization established under section 5of this chapter.
    (e) Money in the fund at the end of a state fiscal year does notrevert to the state general fund.

Distribution of money by charitable organization
    
Sec. 5. (a) The representatives of the councils of the Boy Scoutsof America that are located entirely or partially within Indiana shallestablish an organization that:
        (1) is a charitable organization under Section 501(c) of theInternal Revenue Code;
        (2) is registered to do business in Indiana;
        (3) is located in Indiana; and
        (4) exists for the purpose of raising funds on the behalf of all ofthe councils of the Boy Scouts of America that are locatedentirely or partially within Indiana.
    (b) The organization shall distribute the money received undersection 4 of this chapter to each council of the Boy Scouts ofAmerica that is located entirely or partially within Indiana.
