Chapter 38. Indiana Retired Armed Forces Member License Plates

"Indiana retired armed forces member" defined
Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "Indiana retired armed forcesmember" means a person who:
(1) has served at least twenty (20) years in the United StatesArmed Forces or their reserves and qualifies for a paidretirement; and
(2) presents a valid United States Uniformed Services RetireeIdentification Card or its reserve equivalent.

Design and issuance of plates
Sec. 2. (a) The bureau shall issue an Indiana retired armed forcesmember license plate. The Indiana retired armed forces memberlicense plate shall be designed and issued as a special grouprecognition license plate under IC 9-18-25.
(b) The bureau shall confer with representatives of armed forcesretiree organizations concerning a design for the emblem thatidentifies the vehicle as being registered to an Indiana retired armedforces member as prescribed under IC 9-18-25-5.

Eligibility
Sec. 3. A person who is an Indiana retired armed forces memberand who is eligible to register a vehicle under this title is eligible toreceive at least one (1) Indiana retired armed forces member licenseplate upon doing the following:
(1) Completing an application for an Indiana retired armedforces member license plate.
(2) Paying the appropriate fee under section 4 of this chapter.

Fees
Sec. 4. The fee for an Indiana retired armed forces memberlicense plate is the appropriate fee under IC 9-29-5-38.
