33-18-4. Local management of home by superintendent--Nominees--Duties--Qualifications of superintendent. The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs shall provide for the local management of the State Veterans' Home by the appointment of a superintendent. The Veterans' Commission shall provide a minimum of two nominees but not more than five for the position of superintendent of the State Veterans' Home to be appointed pursuant to § 33-1-15. The superintendent shall be the executive head of the veterans' home and shall devote full time to the duties of such office. The superintendent shall be a citizen of the United States, a resident of South Dakota and an honorably discharged veteran as defined in § 33-17-1.
