Section 58-18B-34 - Report on extending health insurance to medically uninsurable individualsnot part of small employer group.
58-18B-34. Report on extending health insurance to medically uninsurable individuals not part of small employer group. The Division of Insurance and the Department of Health shall prepare a report on extending health insurance coverage using a private sector approach, to medically uninsurable individuals who are not part of a small employer group. The report shall address:
(1) The experience of other states which have extended coverage to the medically uninsurable through private insurance;
(2) The progress of the National Association of the Insurance Commissioners in developing model legislation that can guide state efforts; and
(3) The estimated impact such measures would have on South Dakota.
The report shall be completed by January 1, 1996, and submitted to the Governor and the Legislature.
