9-36-13. Improvements made by municipality--Special assessments for benefits. If a majority of the property owners do not enter a protest against the proposed improvement, and if such improvement is not made in the manner and within the time prescribed in such notice, the governing body by resolution may cause the same to be done and the cost thereof assessed against the lots chargeable as provided in § 9-36-12, according to the benefits derived by each of the lots from such improvement, in the manner provided for special assessments.
