9-43-56. Delivery of special assessment certificates to contractor in payment. Whenever the contract price of any local improvement is payable in assessment certificates and the governing body directs that any payment be made, the auditor or clerk shall make such payment by delivering to the contractor such certificates in an amount aggregating the amount of such payment.
