9-48-51. Restriction to one assessment for service sewer in same street or alley--Replacement of service sewer with main or trunk sewer. No lot or part of lot shall be assessed more than once for the construction of a service sewer in the same street or alley, but if such sewer is replaced by a main or trunk sewer the cost thereof in excess of its cost as a service sewer may be assessed against such lot or part of lot according to benefits as determined by the governing body, or the total assessed valuation of such lot or part of lot may be used in determining the amount to be assessed against such lot or part of lot according to the assessed valuation of the real property in the district.
