209.291 - Transfer of offenders: Within Department; to other governmental agencies; between United States and foreign country.
1. Â The Director may transfer an offender:
(a) From one institution or facility to another within the Department; or
(b) To other governmental agencies,
ĂŠ in accordance with classification evaluations and the requirements of treatment, training, security and custody of the offender.
2. Â The prison sentence of an offender continues uninterrupted while the offender is at the correctional facility to which the offender has been transferred.
3. Â Whenever a treaty is in force providing for the transfer of offenders between the United States and a foreign country, the Director may, with the consent of the Governor, approve a transfer as provided in the treaty upon the application of the offender to the Director.
