266.038 Ā Candidate for elective office of newly created city. Ā A person who wishes to become a candidate for an elective office of a newly created city must:
1. Ā Reside within the boundaries of the newly created city; and
2. Ā File a declaration of candidacy with the county clerk not less than 30 days nor more than 90 days before the date of the election.
