435.122  Voluntary admission.

      1.  Any person with mental retardation or a person with a related condition may apply to any mental retardation center for admission as a voluntary client. The person’s parent or guardian or another responsible person may submit the application on his or her behalf.

      2.  If the person or a responsible party on behalf of the person objects to voluntary admission, the procedure for involuntary admission may be followed.
