705.240 Â Engineer required to be able to read timetables and ordinary handwriting; penalty.
1. Â It shall be unlawful for any person, as an officer of a corporation or otherwise, knowingly to employ an engineer or engine driver to run a locomotive or train on any railway if such engineer or engine driver cannot read timetables and ordinary handwriting.
2. Â It shall be unlawful for any person who cannot read timetables and ordinary handwriting to act as an engineer or run a locomotive or train on any railway.
3. Â Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be guilty of a gross misdemeanor.
