§ 3502. Official visitors. (a) General rule.--Subject to the provisions of subsection (b), the active or visiting committee of any society incorporated for the purpose of visiting and instructing inmates are hereby made official visitors of any correctional institution, with the same powers, privileges and functions as are vested in the official visitors of correctional institutions as now prescribed by law. (b) Notice required.--No active or visiting committee as identified in subsection (a) may visit a correctional institution under this section unless notice of the names of the members of the committee and the terms of their appointment are given by the society, in writing, under its corporate seal, to the chief administrator of the correctional institution.
