§ 10.1-541. Preventive and control measures.

Districts are authorized to carry out preventive and control measures andworks of improvement for flood prevention or agricultural and nonagriculturalphases of the conservation, development, utilization, and disposal of waterwithin the district including, but not limited to, engineering operations,methods of cultivation, the growing of vegetation and changes in use of landon lands owned or controlled by the Commonwealth or any of its agencies, withthe consent and cooperation of the agency administering and havingjurisdiction thereof, and on any other lands within the district uponobtaining the consent of the owner and occupier of such lands or thenecessary rights or interests in such lands.
