§ 10.1-606. Local advisory committee.

When requested by the governing body of any affected county or city, theBoard shall provide for the creation of a local advisory committee to advisethe Board on impoundments within that locality. The advisory committee shallinclude, but not be limited to, representation of the owner and each affectedcounty or city. Prior to the issuance of any permits under this article, theBoard shall advise any existing local advisory committee of any affectedjurisdiction for which a permit is being sought, and request comments fromthe committee on the permit application. No permit shall be issued until atleast sixty days after such a local advisory committee has been so advised.
