The governing body of any county may appropriate funds for advertising andgiving publicity to the resources and advantages of their county, and insecuring and promoting economic development of the county. For the purposesset out in this section the county governing body may make such appropriationto chambers of commerce or similar organizations within such county, or toemploy suitable persons to secure and promote economic development of thecounty.
