§ 15.2-1230. Monthly financial reports of officers and offices.

The governing body of any county may require monthly financial reports fromany officer or office of the county or of any district thereof and mayinvestigate bills and receipts of any county or district officer, and forthese purposes may subpoena witnesses, administer oaths and require theproduction of books, papers and other evidence. Any witness who fails orrefuses to obey any such lawful order of the governing body shall be guiltyof a misdemeanor.
