§ 15.2-1501. Designation of officers to perform certain duties.

Whenever it is not designated by general law or special act which officer oremployee of the locality shall exercise any power or perform any dutyconferred upon or required of the locality, then any such power shall beexercised or duty performed by the officer or employee of the locality sodesignated by the governing body. The governing body also may authorize thechief administrative officer to designate officers and employees to performadministrative duties and to exercise administrative powers.
