§ 15.2-1752. Governmental immunity.

Any academy created pursuant to this article shall be deemed to be agovernmental entity exercising essential governmental powers, and any suchacademy and its directors, officers and employees shall be entitled toimmunity in any civil action or proceeding for damages or injury to anyperson or property of any person to the same extent that counties and theirofficers and employees are immune. Members of the board of directors of theacademy shall have the same immunity as members of county boards ofsupervisors.
