§ 15.2-2109.2. Mutual aid agreements for power and natural gas.

Localities may enter into mutual aid agreements with investor-owned publicutilities, electric cooperatives and interstate natural gas companies inorder to prepare for, prevent, and restore power and natural gas outages andfailures. Such authority shall include, without limitation, the power toenter into agreements relating to (i) contingency plans, (ii) emergencycommunications, (iii) sharing of resources and personnel, and (iv) systemupgrades, maintenance, and repair.
