§ 15.2-2262. Requisites of plat.

Every subdivision plat which is intended for recording shall be prepared by acertified professional engineer or land surveyor, who shall endorse upon eachplat a certificate signed by him setting forth the source of title of theowner of the land subdivided and the place of record of the last instrumentin the chain of title. When the plat is of land acquired from more than onesource of title, the outlines of the several tracts shall be indicated uponthe plat. However, nothing herein shall be deemed to prohibit the preparationof preliminary studies, plans or plats of a proposed subdivision by the ownerof the land, city planners, land planners, architects, landscape architectsor others having training or experience in subdivision planning or design.
