§ 15.2-3512. Suits and prosecutions.

From and after the date when consolidation becomes effective, all indictmentsand prosecutions for crimes committed or ordinances violated and all suits orcauses of action arising within the territory of the consolidated localitymay be instituted in the county, city or town with the same force and effectas if consolidation had always been effective.

Suits may be brought and maintained against a consolidated locality in any ofthe courts of this Commonwealth in the same manner as against any otherlocality.

Any action or proceeding pending by or against any of the consolidatinglocalities may be prosecuted to judgment as if such consolidation had nottaken place, or the consolidated locality may be substituted in its place.
