§ 15.2-5153. Landowners may petition localities.

The owner or owners of at least 51 percent of the land area or assessed valueof land in any tract or tracts of land in any locality or localities maypetition the locality or localities in which the tract or tracts are locatedfor the creation of a community development authority, provided that beforethe creation of a community development authority in any town or county, thetown or county has elected to consider petitions to create communitydevelopment authorities pursuant to the applicable provisions of § 15.2-5152.Any petition for the creation of a community development authority inmultiple tracts which are not contiguous shall be signed by the owner orowners of at least 51 percent of the land area or assessed value of land ineach such non-contiguous tract.
