§ 15.2-6200. Authority created; name.

The Alleghany-Highlands Economic Development Authority, hereinafter referredto as the Authority, is created as a body politic and corporate, a politicalsubdivision of the Commonwealth. As such it shall have, and is hereby vestedwith, the powers and duties hereinafter conferred in this chapter. Eachlocality within the region may become a member of the Authority upon passageof a region-wide concurrent resolution by the governing bodies. Theresolution may be passed at any time prior to the effective date of thischapter; otherwise, membership shall be effective July 1, 1993.
