§ 15.2-810. Restrictions on activities of former officers and employees.

The board, by ordinance, may prohibit former officers and employees, for oneyear after their terms of office have ended or employment ceased, fromassisting for remuneration a party, other than a governmental agency, inconnection with any proceeding, application, case, contract, or otherparticular matter involving the urban county or an agency thereof, if thatmatter is one in which the former officer or employee participated personallyand substantially as an urban county officer or employee through decision,approval, or recommendation.

The term "officer or employee," as used in this section, includes membersof the board, county officers and employees, and individuals who receivemonetary compensation for service on or employment by agencies, boards,authorities, sanitary districts, commissions, committees, and task forcesappointed by the board.
