§ 16.1-69.26. Judges as conservators of the peace.

The judge of each district court having criminal jurisdiction shall be aconservator of the peace within the limits of the territory in which heserves; and if such court is a city court, the judge thereof shall, except asotherwise provided by general law, also be a conservator of the peace for thearea extending for one mile beyond the corporate limits of the city.
