§ 17.1-235. Recordation of federal farm loan mortgages.

The clerks of the circuit courts shall keep a separate book, which shall beknown as the federal farm loan mortgage book, in which shall be recordedmortgages executed to secure the payment of loans made by federal land banksunder authority of the act of Congress, approved July 17, 1916, known as theFederal Farm Loan Act, which mortgages, when so recorded in such book shallbe indexed in the proper general index book, as well as in the index to suchfarm loan mortgage book; provided that any such clerk instead of providingsuch separate book may immediately spread upon the book in which deeds arerecorded in his office any and all proper mortgages or deeds of trustexecuted to secure such loans and all of such mortgages and deeds of trustshall be immediately spread upon such records when received, so that theoriginal thereof may be returned to the federal land bank as soon as possible.
