§ 19.2-89. Extradition of persons imprisoned or awaiting trial in anotherstate.

When it is desired to have returned to this Commonwealth a person charged inthis Commonwealth with a crime and such person is imprisoned or is held undercriminal proceedings then pending against him in another state, the Governormay agree with the executive authority of such other state for theextradition of such person before the conclusion of such proceedings or histerm of sentence in such other state, upon condition that such person bereturned to such other state at the expense of this Commonwealth as soon asthe prosecution in this Commonwealth is terminated.
