§ 2.2-1800. Department of the Treasury; State Treasurer.

A. There is created a Department of the Treasury ("the Department"), whichshall be under the direct control and supervision of the State Treasurer. TheState Treasurer shall be appointed by the Governor to serve at his pleasureor until a successor is appointed and qualified.

B. The State Treasurer shall, under the direction and control of theGovernor, exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred or imposed bylaw upon him and shall perform such other duties as may be required by theGovernor.
