§ 2.2-512. Employment of special counsel to prosecute persons illegallypracticing law.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Attorney General may expendfunds appropriated to his office for the purpose of employing special counselto investigate and prosecute a complaint that any person is engaged in thepractice of law without being duly authorized or licensed so to do or ispracticing law in violation of law. The compensation of the special counselshall be paid out of the appropriation for the Attorney General's office. Nospecial counsel shall be employed and paid except upon the request of theExecutive Committee of the Virginia State Bar.
