§ 2.2-5700.1. Appointment, term, compensation and expenses of members ofSouthern Growth Policies Board.

The Commonwealth's representatives to the Southern Growth Policies Board incompliance with Article II of the compact shall consist of: the Governor; onemember of the House of Delegates appointed by the Speaker of the House ofDelegates; one member of the Senate appointed by the Senate Committee onRules; and two nonlegislative citizen members appointed by the Governor.Legislative members shall serve terms coincident with their terms of officeand shall not have the authority to designate an alternate in accordance withsubdivision D.2. of Article II of the compact. The gubernatorial appointeeshall serve at the pleasure of the Governor. All members may be reappointedfor successive terms.

Legislative members of the Board shall receive such compensation as providedin § 30-19.12 and shall be reimbursed for all reasonable and necessaryexpenses incurred in the performance of their duties as provided in §§2.2-2813 and 2.2-2825. The costs of compensation and expenses of thelegislative members shall be paid from appropriations to the VirginiaCommission on Intergovernmental Cooperation for the attendance ofconferences. Nonlegislative citizen members shall receive such compensationand shall be reimbursed for all reasonable and necessary expenses incurred inthe performance of their duties as may be appropriated or made available forsuch purposes.
