§ 2.2-617. Definitions.

As used in this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise:

"Federal statute" means a federal statute that is in accord with the UnitedStates Constitution imposing mandates on state or local governments, whichmay include, but is not limited to, the following:

1. The Safe Drinking Water Act, 42 U.S.C. § 300f, et seq., as amended;

2. The Clean Air Act, 42 U.S.C. § 7401, et seq., as amended;

3. The Federal Water Pollution Control Act, 33 U.S.C. § 1251, et seq., asamended;

4. The Solid Waste Disposal Act, 42 U.S.C. § 3251, et seq., as amended;

5. The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, 42 U.S.C. § 6901, etseq., as amended;

6. The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Actof 1980, 42 U.S.C. § 9601, et seq., as amended;

7. The Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986, P.L. 99-499, asamended;

8. The Endangered Species Act of 1973, 16 U.S.C. § 1531, et seq., as amended;

9. The Asbestos School Hazard Abatement Statute, 20 U.S.C. § 4011, et seq.,as amended;

10. The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993, P.L. 101-336, asamended;

11. The Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986, 49 U.S.C. § 2501, etseq., as amended;

12. The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, P.L. 103-3, as amended;

13. The Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, P.L. 99-145 and99-499, as amended;

14. The Federal, State, and Local Partnership for Education ImprovementProgram, 20 U.S.C. § 1751, et seq., as amended;

15. The National Voter Registration Act of 1993, P.L. 103-31, as amended;

16. The Federal School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, 42 U.S.C.§§ 1751 and 1773, P.L. 101-336, as amended;

17. The Federal Social Services and Medicaid Requirements, 42 U.S.C. § 1396,et seq., as amended;

18. The Federal Highway Safety Programs; and

19. The Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991, P.L.102-240, as amended.
