§ 2.2-800. Department of Accounts created; appointment of Comptroller; oath.

A. There is created a Department of Accounts (the "Department"). TheDirector of the Department shall be known as the Comptroller. He shall beappointed by the Governor to serve at his pleasure.

B. The Comptroller shall, under the direction and control of the Governor,exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred or imposed upon him bylaw and perform such other duties as may be required by the Governor.

C. The Comptroller, before entering upon the discharge of his duties, shalltake an oath that he will faithfully and honestly execute the duties of hisoffice.
