§ 23-110. Conferring of degrees.

The Governor and the board of visitors and faculty of the Institute mayconfer a degree upon any graduate found qualified to receive it, afterexamination upon such of the branches of the arts and sciences and ofliterature taught at the Institute as the board may deem requisite. The boardmay also, in its discretion, confer honorary degrees or diplomas ofdistinguished merit.
