§ 23-252. Acceptance of gifts; expenditures; application of §§ 23-3.1 and23-9.2.

A. The board is authorized, on behalf of the Commonwealth and in furtheranceof the purposes of the Museum, to receive and administer gifts, bequests anddevises of property of any kind whatsoever, and grants from agencies of theUnited States government, and to expend, or authorize the expenditure of,funds derived from such sources and funds appropriated by the GeneralAssembly to the Museum.

B. The Museum shall be deemed to be an institution of higher education withinthe meaning of §§ 23-3.1 and 23-9.2.

C. Gifts heretofore made to the Museum by political subdivisions of theCommonwealth are hereby validated.
