§ 25.1-231. View of property.

The court shall direct the body determining just compensation, in the custodyof the sheriff or sergeant or one of his deputies, to view the propertydescribed in the petition with the owner and the petitioner, or anyrepresentative of either party, and none other, unless otherwise directed bythe court. Upon motion of either party, the judge shall accompany the bodydetermining just compensation upon such view. Such view shall not beconsidered by the body determining just compensation as the sole evidence inthe case.
