§ 29.1-732. Possession of certificate of title issued to another unlawful.

It shall constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor for any person in the Commonwealthto have in his possession a certificate of title issued by the Department toa person other than the lawful holder, unless the certificate of title hasbeen duly assigned to the holder as provided in this chapter. This sectionshall not apply to secured parties who legally hold such certificates oftitle as provided in this chapter.
