§ 29.1-745. Enforcement of chapter; vessels displaying Coast Guard inspectiondecal.

Every conservation police officer, Marine Resources Commission inspector, andevery other law-enforcement officer of the Commonwealth and its subdivisionsshall have the authority to enforce the provisions of this chapter and shallhave authority to stop, board and inspect any vessel subject to this chapterafter having identified himself in his official capacity. Except forenforcement of § 29.1-738 and the requirement of having the registrationcertificate on board, the provisions of this section shall not apply to anyvessel of twenty-six feet or more in length on which is displayed a currentvalid United States Coast Guard or United States Coast Guard Auxiliaryinspection decal.
