§ 3.2-2407. Bright Flue-Cured Tobacco Promotion Fund established.

There is hereby created in the state treasury a special nonreverting fund tobe known as the Bright Flue-Cured Tobacco Promotion Fund, hereafter referredto as "the Fund." The Fund shall be established on the books of theComptroller. All moneys levied and collected under this chapter shall be paidinto the state treasury and credited to the Fund.

Interest earned on moneys in the Fund shall remain in the Fund and becredited to it. Any moneys remaining in the Fund, including interest thereon,at the end of each fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund but shallremain in the Fund. Moneys in the Fund shall be used solely for the purposesof carrying out the administration and enforcement of this chapter, includingthe collection of taxes, the payment of personal services and expenses ofemployees and agents of the Bright Flue-Cured Tobacco Board, and the paymentof rent, services, materials, and supplies necessary to effectuate thepurposes of this chapter. Expenditures and disbursements from the Fund shallbe made by the Bright Flue-Cured Tobacco Board on warrants issued by theComptroller upon written request signed by a duly authorized officer of theBright Flue-Cured Tobacco Board.

The Auditor of Public Accounts shall audit all the accounts of the BrightFlue-Cured Tobacco Board as is provided for in § 30-133.
