§ 3.2-5713. Penalties.

A. Any person violating any provision of this chapter is guilty of a Class 1misdemeanor, and may, in addition to or in lieu thereof, be assessed a civilpenalty, as provided in § 3.2-5714.

B. Nothing in this chapter shall be construed as requiring the Commissionerto report, for the institution of proceedings under this chapter, minorviolations of this chapter, whenever the Commissioner believes that thepublic interest will be adequately served in the circumstances by a suitablewritten notice of warning.
