§ 30-113.1. Records.

If a complaint is dismissed during the preliminary investigation, suchrecords shall remain confidential and be retained for a period of five yearsand then destroyed. Records related to a complaint that has proceeded to aninquiry beyond a preliminary investigation shall be made available to thepublic and retained in a manner prescribed by the Virginia Public Records Act(§ 42.1-76 et seq.).
