§ 30-296. (For contingent expiration, see Editor's note)Compensation; expenses; grants.

Legislative members of the Commission shall receive suchcompensation as provided in § 30-19.12, and nonlegislative citizen membersshall receive such compensation for the performance of their duties as providedin § 2.2-2813. All members of the Commission shall be reimbursed for allreasonable and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their dutiesas provided in §§ 2.2-2813 and 2.2-2825. However, all such compensation andexpenses shall be paid from existing appropriations to the Commission, or, ifunfunded, shall be approved by the Joint Rules Committee.

The Commission may solicit, accept, use, and dispose of gifts,grants, donations, bequests, or other funds or real or personal property forthe purpose of aiding or facilitating the work of the Commission. In accordancewith the appropriation act, the Commission may procure supplies, services, andproperty, and make or enter into contracts, leases, or other legal agreementsas it may deem necessary to carry out its duties as set forth in this chapter.No contract, lease, or other legal agreement shall be entered into by theCommission that extends beyond the date of expiration of the Commission.
