§ 33.1-164. Alternative procedure for abandonment of old road or crossing toextent of alteration.

When any road or any road containing a railway-highway grade crossing hasbeen or is altered and a new road, which serves the same citizens as the oldroad, is constructed in lieu thereof and approved by the governing body, theold road and/or the public crossing may be abandoned to the extent of suchalteration, but no further, by a resolution of the board of supervisors orother governing body of the county, declaring the old road and/or the publiccrossing abandoned.
