§ 33.1-224. Transfer of streets, etc., from secondary system to localauthorities.

Whenever any incorporated town has a population of more than 3,500inhabitants, all the roads, streets, causeways, bridges, landings and wharvesin such town theretofore incorporated within the secondary system of statehighways shall be eliminated from such system and the control andjurisdiction over them shall be vested in the local authorities. This sectionshall in no way affect the rights of such towns to receive the benefitsprovided elsewhere in this title.
