§ 33.1-249. Maintenance and operation of city and state line bridges.

The governing bodies of cities and towns having more than 3,500 populationand the Commonwealth Transportation Commissioner may enter into agreements,upon such terms and conditions as may be necessary, for the maintenance ofpublic highway bridges or tunnels lying partly within and partly without theincorporated limits of such cities and towns.

The Commonwealth Transportation Commissioner may enter into agreements, withother states and the District of Columbia, upon such terms and conditions asmay be necessary, for the maintenance and operation, including the issuanceof permits, of public highway bridges or tunnels lying partly within andpartly without the territorial limits of this Commonwealth.
