§ 36-85.17. Manufactured Housing Board created; membership.

A. There is hereby created the Virginia Manufactured Housing Board within theDepartment of Housing and Community Development. The Board shall be composedof nine members appointed by the Governor subject to confirmation by theGeneral Assembly. The members shall include two manufactured homemanufacturers, two manufactured home dealers, the Director, and four membersrepresenting the public who have knowledge of the industry.

B. The Board shall elect from its members a chairman and a vice-chairman forterms of two years. The members of the Board shall initially be appointed forfour-year terms. Upon expiration of the initial terms, one manufacturer, onedealer and two members representing the public shall be appointed fortwo-year terms while one manufacturer, one dealer and two membersrepresenting the public shall be appointed for four-year terms. Allappointments thereafter shall be for four-year terms. In the event of anyvacancy, the Governor shall appoint a replacement to serve the unexpiredterm. Meetings shall be held at the call of the chairman or whenever twomembers so request.

C. No member of the Board shall participate in any proceeding before theBoard involving that member's own business.
