§ 38.2-6001. Viatical settlement brokers.

No person shall act as a viatical settlement broker with a resident of thisCommonwealth without first obtaining a license from the Commission inaccordance with Article 6.1 (§ 38.2-1865.1 et seq.) of Chapter 18 of thistitle. If there is more than one viator on a single policy, and the viatorsare residents of different states, the viatical settlement broker shall berequired to hold a license in the state in which the viator having thelargest percentage resides or, if the viators hold equal ownership, theviatical settlement broker shall be required to hold a license in the stateof residence of one viator agreed upon in writing by all the viators.
