§ 45.1-161.74. Mine Rescue Fund.

The Mine Rescue Fund is created as a special fund in the office of the StateTreasurer. All moneys collected from operators pursuant to the provisions of§ 45.1-161.73 shall be paid into the Mine Rescue Fund. On July 1 of eachyear, or as soon thereafter as sufficient moneys are in the Mine Rescue Fundas are needed for this purpose, ten percent of the fund shall be transferredfrom the fund to the Department for purposes of administering thestate-designated mine rescue team program. On an annual basis, funds inexcess of the sum which is transferred for administrative purposes shall bedivided equally among all state-designated mine rescue teams. No moneys inthe Mine Rescue Fund shall revert to the general fund.
